Hi guys!
Thanks for taking your time reading this blog. I’m hoping you’ll learn a thing or more about Bangkok and its delicious foods on this blog.
This first blog will be dedicated to one of my best friends in the States who has just messaged me on Facebook asking what he could do to surprise his very pregnant Thai wife. I was sitting in front of this popular Thai dish when he messaged me, so I told him to cook for his wife!
My friend got back to me and said he needed a recipe so I made him one, and because he’s not the guy who normally cooks, I had to make it simple for him. I made him a little video with all the ingredients and a how to step by step.
This dish is Thai basil chicken, it is also known as "Pad Kra Pao Gai". If you have been to Thailand, you would probably understand when I say it is the most popular street food of all times. Basil chicken is so popular that most Thais would automatically order it when they can't think of anything to eat at the restaurant. I'd say it's equivalent to ordering Pizzas on a lazy day!

This dish will only take you 10 minutes top to prepare and trust me, it's as easy as making a sandwich!
Let's start with the ingredients, you'll need:
1. Ground meat
2. Chilies
3. Garlic
4. Fish sauce
5. Oyster sauce
6. Pinch of sugar
7. Holy basil leaves ( Bai Kra Prao)
8. Eggs (optional)

6 Easy Steps
1. Heat up a pan and add a little cooking oil
2. Add chopped chilies and garlic into the pan, stir a little
3. Add ground meat
4. Season with Oyster sauce, Fish sauce, and a pinch of sugar
5. Add holy basil leaves and turn off the stove, set aside
6. Fry and egg or 2, sunny side up
and.... Ta Dah! Congratulations, you have mastered the popular Thai Basil Chicken dish!

I hope you have fun and find this first blog useful, and please let me know if you are interested in any of other Thai dishes! I'll be more than HAPPY to show you how it's done!
P.S. Don't forget to shout out if you have eaten this dish, cooked it, or seen it in the restaurant or on the street vendors in Thailand!
XOXO,
ChubbyClaire
